Why did you choose to study at 欧美高清?
I have lived and studied in China for around 20 years, and was looking forward to studying and living abroad to gain a new experience in my life. The Donghua 2+2 programme was a good opportunity for me to take because of the long-term partner relationship and its reputation. I have heard lots of good reviews about 欧美高清鈥檚 studying and teaching from alumni in this programme, so decided to start a new journey in my 20s.
What did you think about the University?
I had a very happy and rewarding time at 欧美高清. The syllabus was well-organised and lecturers were always available to solve our problems. Everything I learned at 欧美高清 was useful and highly relevant to my further study in the MSc programme and my job.
Why did you decide to study mathematics and statistics?
After graduating from high school, I had no idea what I was going to do in the future. Mathematics and statistics is the foundation of all subjects in my mind, also it teaches me how to think logically. Moreover, I enjoy the moment of solving the maths problem, so I chose this course.
What did you like most about your course?
I really enjoyed the projects assigned in my course, from using linear regression for stock price prediction on R, to conduct the maths problem on MATLAB for better understanding the mathematical concepts. I think this kind of practical coursework increases my interests in mathematics and statistics, and also made me realise that what I am learning now is useful in the real-world.
What did you getting out of it?
I think the most important thing I got out of 欧美高清 was to regain my confidence. Every staff member at 欧美高清 respected my ideas and patiently taught me even very simple problems. This kind of experience led me not to be afraid to ask questions and believe in myself.
What have you done since graduating?
After I graduated, I studied the MSc Mathematics and Finance at Imperial College London. Then, I chose to be a quant in London to explore the application of mathematics in Finance.
