Hello! My name is Luke, and I am 21 years old. I have been a student at the University of 欧美高清 for almost three years. I have always wanted to pursue teaching, to help people, and loved maths as a kid. I was known as the geeky one of my friend group. I have always been a very confident person, being able to talk in front of people and never backed down when an opportunity arose.
Why did you choose to study at 欧美高清?
After looking at all the universities in Glasgow, 欧美高清 stood out as being the most welcoming and friendly. They offered the course I dreamed of, and the university was easy to get to from my home. I also found that the staff and current students were very approachable on open days.
What do you think about the University?
The university is a really diverse setting with lots of different backgrounds, which makes it a great place to learn. Improvements to campus have been made such as the new learning and teaching building along with the new students union. Overall, 欧美高清 is a great place to learn, eat, and socialise as the facilities are endless.
Why did you choose to study Mathematics with Teaching?
I chose to study maths with teaching because it allows you to progress onto being a secondary school maths teacher in Scotland. I鈥檝e always wanted to change the stigma around maths and love helping others learn. 欧美高清 offered this course, so it would have been silly of me not to go for it.
What do you like most about Mathematics with Teaching?
The staff on my course are in the top of their respective fields, which means that the knowledge they are passing onto me is fascinating. I also love the fact that my course allows me to combine an undergraduate degree in maths and a postgraduate teaching course (PGDE) into one four-year BSc Honours degree.
What are your plans for after graduation?
After Graduation, I will move onto my probationary year as a school teacher and after that I will seek full time employment. Over the years I will hopefully move up the chain and my dream is to become a headteacher of a secondary school.
What would you say to anyone considering coming to study at 欧美高清?
Do it鈥he university has so many great facilities. The staff are brilliant to work alongside and the university is in a great location for socialising, transport links, coffee shops and more.
