Research
Our research focuses upon the development and testing of interventions that promote increased physical activity across the lifespan and with clinical groups, using advanced technology.

Department facilities
Physical Activity and Health students have access to department facilities including the body composition lab and human performance lab.
Highlights from the Physical Activity and Health 2024 annual report
- Across our group we have published 31 peer reviewed papers including high impact publications such as JAMA Paediatrics.
- Our research funders include the National Institute for Health and Care Research, the Royal Society for Edinburgh, Sir Halley Stewart Trust and the Baily Thomas Charitable Fund.
- Our research and knowledge exchange income and outputs are increasingly inter-disciplinary. We are working with Computer and Information Sciences (CIS), Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and Design and Manufacturing Management (DMEM) at 欧美高清.
- Sentinel trauma management app was developed with £50k of industry and innovation KE funding awarded in 2024.
