Personal statement

Sebastian Dellepiane joined the department as a Lecturer in Public Policy in March 2012. He holds a MA in Political Economy and a PhD in Government from the University of Essex. He had previously studied economics and political science in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He held research positions in several European universities, including Essex University, University College Dublin, and the University of Antwerp. He has been guest lecturer at the Essex Summer School in Social Science Data Analysis, the Institute of Development Policy and Management in Antwerp, the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance, and the German Development Institute in Bonn. Sebastian investigates and teaches in the area of political economy. His PhD focuses on the relationship between credible commitments and institutions by examining the origins, evolution and ultimate collapse of Argentina鈥檚 convertibility system (1991-2001).
