How will I fund my time abroad?
- Tuition fees continue to be paid to 欧美高清 while you are on exchange. You do not pay tuition fees to your host University.
- For Scottish & EU students, will continue to pay your tuition direct to 欧美高清.
- International students studying abroad will continue to pay their regular tuition to 欧美高清 for the period they are away.
- Students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland are advised to contact the Exchange Team in the Recruitment and International Office to confirm their tuition fee arrangements.
Can I apply for a student loan if I am studying abroad?
- Yes, you can. Generally, any loans, scholarships, or bursaries should not be affected if you study abroad.
Can I work while I'm on exchange?
- Most students will be attending the host university on a student visa which may entitle you to work on campus for a limited number of hours per week (usually up to 20 hours/week). You're not usually permitted to work off campus.
- It's unlikely you will be able to secure a job until you reach the host university so you should not rely on this to fund your exchange in case this does not work out.
How can I research my budget?
- What is your budget? How much can you afford? What do you want to do when you are abroad?
- Look at student feedback for an accurate idea of what the costs might be.
- Use to compare the cost of living in two places.

Turing Scheme Funding is government funding that is awarded to 欧美高清 to support students going to study, work or volunteer abroad.
In consultation with the four faculties, 欧美高清 has decided to use a selection criterion that meets the Turing Funding Scheme’s key priority of supporting Widening Access students to participate in an international experience.
For the 25/26 session, we have supported students from the following Widening Access Categories:

If you are studying abroad as a compulsory part of your course, you can claim for travel expenses from SAAS. EU nationals are not eligible for this. Students on an English Language Assistant Placement also cannot claim for this.
