Fees & funding for students from Republic of Ireland

Students from the Republic of Ireland must pay tuition fees. To find out the fees for each course please go to the appropriate  or view our undergraduate fees for this year.

Your fee status

The University assesses your fee status with reference to regulations published by the Scottish Government. During your application process we will have assessed your fees and told you which fee category you fall into. Advice on funding depends on your fee status, and where you are resident. The information below will help you understand the financial support you may be able to apply for.

You can apply to SAAS for a loan to pay your tuition fees. You may also be entitled to support for living costs from .

If you鈥檙e an Irish national resident in England, Wales or Northern Ireland you should apply for support from the relevant agency for the country in which you are resident:

  • Student Finance England
  • Student Finance Northern Ireland
  • Student Finance Wales

Apply to SAAS for help with tuition fees. If you meet further residence conditions you may be entitled to SAAS support for living costs. If you have not already done so, you should apply to SAAS.

Tuition fees

Generally, undergraduate tuition fees are 拢9,250 per year for students coming from the Republic of Ireland. Like other Scottish universities, we offer four-year Honours degree programmes. In many of our subjects, suitably qualified students from the Republic of Ireland can enter year two directly and complete their Honours degree in three years.

If you鈥檙e studying an integrated Masters degree programme 鈥� for example MSci, MEng 鈥� you鈥檒l pay an additional 拢9,250 for the Masters year. The MPharm is a four-year Masters course, and students will pay 拢9,250 for each of the four years.

Bursaries & scholarships

We have a generous package of bursaries on offer for fee paying students from the Republic of Ireland.

You don鈥檛 need to make a separate application for these. When your place is confirmed at 欧美高清, we鈥檒l assess your eligibility.

Funding your studies

As an undergraduate student living in the Republic of Ireland you can apply to SAAS (Students Awards Agency Scotland) for a tuition fee loan to cover tuition fees and a maintenance loan to help cover living costs. SAAS will pay your tuition fee loan directly to 欧美高清 and your maintenance loan will be paid to you by the Student Loans Company (SLC).

You need to pay back Tuition Fee Loans and Maintenance Loans but not until you have finished your course and are earning above a certain amount. Other student finance such as grants and bursaries don鈥檛 have to be paid back.

How to apply for funding

Get ahead of the crowd and complete your  when SAAS opens in the Spring 鈥� even if you are holding a Conditional offer of study.

You must complete your SAAS application in full and it must be approved before you'll receive any funding.

All applications are for one academic year only, so make sure you apply every year.
