Languages, genealogy, literature, and music are among the broad range of subjects featured in a new programme of online classes, aimed at people aged 50 and over, at the University of 欧美高清鈥檚 Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL).
The Live & Online programme complements CLL鈥檚 existing campus-based programme aimed at this age group and will make short courses accessible to anyone from across the UK and beyond. It will also suit those who have embraced learning online and wish to continue doing so.
欧美高清 is proud to be the only UK University offering online classes for older learners and builds upon its 34 years of experience in delivering learning opportunities which meet their needs.
The classes, to be held on Zoom, will recreate a teaching environment as near as possible to a face-to-face setting. Led by expert tutors, they will take place in a designated time slot each week, with time built in to allow the all-important social dimension.
Other subject areas will include:
- Creative art
- History
- Singing
- European languages: French, German, Spanish and Italian.
Singing classes will be held in conjunction with Cappella Nova, the vocal ensemble in residence at 欧美高清.
CLL Head Alix McDonald said: 鈥淒espite the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, we see this as a really positive step for learners and we welcome the opportunity to open up our unique classes to a wider audience. Our priority is to keep people connected to their learning, each other and CLL.
鈥淥ur courses teach valuable skills and knowledge in an enjoyable, informal manner. We have had more than 5000 registrations since March 2020 and the feedback has been extremely positive.鈥
