Digital Transformation

Digital transformation is reshaping how governments, organisations, and individuals live and work around the world. Sometimes referred to as ‘Industry 4.0’ or ‘the second machine age’, the macro-process of digital transformation is disrupting the status quo of organisational performance across sectors. At the confluence of cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, digital transformation is unlocking new sources of value creation, risk, efficiency and competition.

For today’s leaders, digital transformation represents both a major opportunity and a complex challenge. This course will help you understand what digital transformation really means for your organisation and how to lead it with confidence. 

The Digital Transformation course is a six-week executive education programme designed to help you develop your ability to fully respond to key questions shaping the digital era, such as:

• What are the defining characteristics and implications of digital transformation as a mega trend?
• What are the strategic implications for organisations of digital transformation and what does it mean for my organisation?
• How should organisational change and technological innovation feature in digital transformation initiatives?
• How can we appraise the readiness of organisations to respond to digital transformation?

You’ll experience a flexible, blended approach combining online self-directed study with an engaging on-campus session to consolidate your learning. After completing the online materials, you’ll be invited to attend a one-day, on-campus session to consolidate learning and offer the opportunity to discuss the priorities and challenges that organisations are facing.

Our AI Literacy Suite is an educational framework designed to help participants understand and engage with AI in a structured and progressive manner. The suite consists of five different learning stages, each with ten sections, to cater for a range  of existing knowledge levels, backgrounds and roles. The pathway helps guide learners, from curious beginners with no technical background to more advanced users like data scientists or business executives, in developing a comprehensive understanding of AI technologies, applications, risks, and ethical considerations to support adoption. 

Our pathway encourages a step-by-step approach, allowing learners to build on their knowledge and capabilities over time, with the ultimate goal of equipping them with the skills and insights needed to responsibly and effectively engage with and leverage AI in their respective fields. Each persona is designed to support an appropriate level of knowledge and skills, meaning that you can select which persona is appropriate for your personal development goals. Follow the pathway from a particular starting point or choose a single persona to study as a standalone short course.  An outline of each persona and course content is shown below. Further information on course fees, delivery model and content, can be accessed below. 

Successful completion of the assessment associated with each course awards post graduate level credits. However, the option exists not to undergo the assessment and simply receive certification of attendance and completion.

This course will provide a broad overview of governance topics and challenges faced by organisations. Participants will engage in self-directed learning over the course of 4 weeks via online, pre-recorded lecture materials and activities at a time which suits their schedules.

The time required to complete each of the undernoted four online elements of this course is estimated to be around one to two hours per week.

Participants will engage with four core online elements, followed by a consolidation session:

• Foundations of Governance: Understanding the perspective, nature, and underlying principles of corporate governance.
• Strategic Leadership: Analysing the role of the Board in setting organizational direction and managing risk and compliance.
• Ethics & Culture: Evaluating how values, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and business ethics impact governance structures.
• Environmental Impact: Navigating the "Road to Net Zero" by using data to measure impact and understanding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
• Strategic Consolidation: A focused session on board responsibilities, ESG ratings agencies, materiality, and impact measurement.

Upon completion of the pre-recorded elements of the course, participants will be invited to join us for a half-day session, which will focus on Strategic Perspective including Board responsibilities, the role in managing risk and compliance in relation to ESG, ratings agencies, measuring impact and materiality.
